- Is HEO a real category or marketing speak?
- Fair question. SEO is a real category — agencies and tools have built around it for 25 years. GEO is real and emerging (2023+). AEO is real (since 2020). HEO is our framework for integrating the three. The word HEO is ours; the practice underneath is grounded in the actual mechanics of how each engine works.
- Can I do HEO without doing all three pieces?
- Yes — but partially. You can ship strong SEO without GEO, but you'll miss AI-citation traffic. You can ship strong AEO without SEO, but you'll get snippets without rankings. We picked the HEO name because it captures the hybrid intent cleanly — and because we wanted a name that wasn't owned by anyone else, so the framework stays open and we can publish on it without legal friction.
